Parents

Parentline Plus - 0808 800 22 22

Parentline Plus offers help and support via their helpline and leaflets to anyone in a parenting role. Call their free confidential helpline on 0808 800 22 22 (24 hours a day). You can also find useful information on their website at www.parentlineplus.org.uk (external link).

National Council for One-Parent Families - 0800 018 5026

The National Council for One-Parent Families runs an information service for lone parents on a variety of issues, including childcare, benefits and legal rights. Call their free helpline on 0800 018 5026 (Mondays to Fridays 9am-5pm). Also, on the same number, there's a specific advice service for lone parents with maintenance, Child Support Agency, benefits and other money problems. Working Families - 0800 013 0313
Working Families provides advice and information for working parents on a low income and parents trying to get into work. This includes advice on benefits and tax credits that you may be eligible for, with specialist advice available for working parents of children with disabilities. Family Rights Group - 0800 731 1696
If your family is involved with social services about the care and protection of children, you can get help and advice from the Family Rights Group. Adoption

Talk Adoption - 0808 808 1234

Talk Adoption provides a helpline for young people up to 25 who are adoptees and for their birth parents, siblings and friends. Call free on 0808 808 1234 (Mondays to Fridays 10am-6pm). http://www.afteradoption.org.uk (external link).

National Organisation for Counselling Adoptees and Parents - 01865 875000

NORCAP, the National Organisation for Counselling Adoptees and Parents run a telephone helpline service. However their remit is confined to adoptees, so please only contact them about searching for a birth parent if you were subsequently adopted by a step mother or father. Marriage Care - 0845 660 6000

Marriage Care provides a confidential information and listening service for people facing difficulties within their marriage or close personal relationships. Callers can phone on any issue of concern. Face-to-face relationship counselling is also available. Call the Marriage Care helpline on 0845 660 6000 (Mondays to Fridays 11am-3pm).

National Family Mediation - 020 7383 5993

National Family Mediation helps families going through separation or divorce by helping them to resolve issues such as the welfare of their children. Call 020 7383 5993 (Mondays to Fridays 10am-2pm).

Sexual Health

Sexual Health Line - Freefone 0800 567 123 (calls may be charged if made from mobile phones) 7 days a week, 24 hours a day

A 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, free and confidential telephone service with advice about HIV, AIDS, sexual health, sexually transmitted infections, local services, clinics and support services.

Sexwise - Freephone 0800 28 29 30 (calls may be charged if made from mobile phones) 7 days a week, from 7am -12 midnight

Free and confidential advice line for young people under 18, on anything to do with sex, relationships and contraception. All calls are free.

Contraceptive Education Service provided by fpa 0845 310 1334 (England) Mondays to Fridays 9am-7pm

The Contraceptive Education Service provides a nationwide information service for men and women. Trained staff can answer your questions on contraception, family planning, sexual health, sexual health (GUM) clinics, as well as on other organisations that can help you.
