Annual Statement and Summary of Accounts

Chester's audited Statement of Acccounts 2007-8 (542kb)   is now available.

The purpose of the Statement of Accounts is to give electors, local taxpayers, members of the authority and other interested parties clear information about the authority's finances. This is all part of demonstrating corporate governance and stewardship of public finances. This is a technical document, as the content is prescribed by legislation. Therefore to make our financial accounts as accessible as possible, we have produced a 'Summary of Accounts'. The summary provides a brief overview of the cost of providing services and how these were financed, together with our financial position at the end of the year.

While our Statement of Accounts was prepared in accordance with the Accounting Code of Practice, in summarising the information some modifications have been made to aid understanding.

We would like to hear your views on how we have presented our Summary of Accounts 2007-8 (77kb) , so that we can make improvements for the future. A questionnaire is provided so that you can send your comments to us. Please take the time to respond as we value your comments.
