Submission to Department of Communities & Local Government (DCLG)

People & Places is a proposal for radical change to local government in Cheshire.  This was prepared following a Government invitation for local authorities to submit proposals to replace two tier local authorities in shire counties with unitary authorities like the rest of the UK.

This proposal is jointly sponsored and supported by Chester City Council, Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council, Macclesfield Borough Council and Vale Royal Borough Council because it is the best solution for Cheshire based on Government and community expectations.
