2008 Communities of Cheshire Survey

Thousands of questionnaires will soon be landing on door mats across Cheshire inviting residents to take part in an important survey.

The 2008 Communities of Cheshire Survey will ask residents for their views about what it’s like to live in their area.

Results will show whether Cheshire County Council, the six District Councils, Cheshire Police, Fire and Rescue Service, health, business and community representatives are dealing with issues that concern and matter to local people.

The questionnaire asks residents for opinions about aspects of quality of life in their local area, including community safety and local services.

From April 2009 two new unitary Councils will take over all the service responsibilities of Cheshire County Council and the 6 District Councils, so the survey will be important to the new Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils in planning future services.

It will be used to see how well public agencies are doing at delivering the services that matter to residents and to decide what needs to be done differently in the future.

Up to 30,000 people across Cheshire will receive the survey which will be sent out from September 29th.

Residents are asked to look out for the survey, complete and return it in the prepaid envelope provided. To ensure that findings are a true reflection of public opinion it is important to get as high a response as possible. Results will be available from next spring on the new Unitary Councils’ websites.

If residents who receive a questionnaire have any questions or concerns about the survey they should contact 0845 1133311 or info@cheshire.gov.uk or you can find out more by visiting the Communities of Cheshire Survey Webpages.
