If you are a landlord or prospective landlord wishing to rent out property, you may have tenants entitled to help from us towards paying their rent.
Housing benefit and Council Tax Benefit are national welfare benefits which help people on low income pay rent or council tax, or both, on the home they live in.
They are means tested benefits which means that the amount people get depends on their income, savings, size and condition of their home, their rent and who lives with them.
