Health and Safety

The council has three Environmental Health Officers whose work can be  broken down into 3 key areas:

• Training and Advice
• Health and Safety Enforcement
• Home Safety

TRAINING AND ADVICE

To help businesses comply with the law, the Team offers advice and information on health and safety matters. This takes a number of forms :- 

• Inspectors are happy to visit your business and discuss specific areas which are of interest to you.  
• Guidance and information packs are produced making it easier to understand and comply with the law.
• Training workshops are regularly run where guidance is given in a more detailed and structured way.  
• All training courses incorporate practical exercises to make the advice both useful and interesting.
