Chester In Bloom


Chester in Bloom is the floral competition for Chester and the district. The success of the competition has always been due to the support and involvement of residents, schools, voluntary groups and businesses throughout the district.
Winners receive a cup, plaque or certificate. The runners-up also receive gardening vouchers and a plaque. The overall winners of the Domestic and Commercial categories will in addition receive by courtesy of Paul Antony Photographic Studios, an exclusive framed portrait photograph of their family and garden or staff or premises worth £350!!
This year there are 17 categories altogether:
Domestic
- Best large Garden (over 30ft approx)
- Best Small Garden (30ft or under approx)
- Best Terraced Garden / Backyard
- Best Housing Trust Garden
- Best Bedding Display
- Best Hanging Basket
- Wild Garden
Commercial
- Best Hotel & Guest House
- Best Pub & Restaurant
- Retail Outlets (stores shops, supermarkets etc)
- Business Premises (offices, factories, industrial / commercial sites)
- Tourist Attractions
Community
- Community Projects (eg streets, part of streets, community centres, residential homes, scouts, guides
- Environment Projects
Allotments

Chester Schools in Bloom
Chester Schools in Bloom is part of the Chester in Bloom competition which includes gardens, environmental improvements and conservation projects. Entry is free and there are superb prizes for the 1st 2nd and 3rd winners. Applications are open to all schools in the Chester District, the closing date for entry will be July 2009

North West In Bloom
Communities are encouraged to participate in meeting the challenge set by the North West In Bloom Competition. The challenge is now over environmental quality, sustainability, community involvement, cleanliness and not just flowers.
Any community, school, local organisation, agency, business or individual making an effort will contribute to the overall efforts to improve the quality of life to those who live, work and visit the Chester District.

Groups can enter the Britain In Bloom Competition in one of the following categories:
Village - up to 600
Large Village - 601-2000
Urban Community - 2,001-10,000
Town - 10,001-25,000
