Business Resource Efficiency and Waste (BREW)

Tackling Waste Crime in Chester; the BREW project is a DEFRA (external link) funded initiative that aims to help businesses improve their waste management. As part of the program, the Environment Agency will be tackling the scourge of waste crime including fly tipping to ensure a level playing field for business and encourage them to deal with waste in a responsible and sustainable way.

Through BREW, DEFRA has provided funding to cover two main projects;

  • Web enable the Register Of Waste Carriers so that it can be viewed by the public and to allow online registration. I will also help individuals to fulfil the recently introduced duty of care for householders.
  • To carry out Targeted Zero Tolerance Campaigns in Chester and other towns and cities around England.
