Grounds Maintenance Contract

Introduction

Vale Contract Services now fulfil Chester City Council's Grounds Maintenance and Arboricultural Services.  Maintenance includes tending the trees, shrubs, flowers, rose beds, hedges, grass areas, nature parks, playing fields, sports facilities, car parks cemeteries and allotments, but not housing sites or highway verges. 

Parish Councils are also taking up the Grounds Maintenance service offered through the new contractor.

Background

The City Council has maintained the City's housing and highway areas through three contractors over recent years.  Through the rationalisation of contracts in preparation for a single contract, the Housing Trust and County Highway sections are now making their own arrangements for Grounds Maintenance.
