What you need to know

Planning (Development) - For most types of development requiring planning permission, the Council is the Local Planning Authority for the Chester District.

Property and Project Management (Resources) - The Property and Project Management service was created in April 2001, it provides a comprehensive property and project development, co-ordination, and management service for the Council.

Local Land Charges (Development) - Local Land Charges is a small dedicated team within the Council's Development Directorate committed to providing a quality service to residents and businesses.

Building Consultancy (Development) - The Building Control regulation system exists to ensure buildings are properly designed and constructed. Buildings must ensure the health, safety and welfare of people using them and must also be convenient to use.

Countryside (Environment) - The expertise of the Countryside Team covers policy and projects relating to the natural environment; trees, wildlife and rural issues.

Landscape (Environment) - The expertise of the Landscape Team covers policy and projects relating to landscape issues.

Design and Conservation (Development) - The Design and Conservation Service is responsible for the care and protection of historic buildings of architectural or historic interest, conservation areas and the design of the built environment of the District.   It has a duty to protect and enhance the historic and built environment for future generations to enjoy.

Local Development Framework (Development) - the Council is required by law to produce a planning policy document covering the whole of the District. The purpose of this document is to provide a framework for considering planning applications, co-ordinating development and giving the public an opportunity to become involved with local planning issues.

Local View GIS (Development) - LocalView gives you even more access to online council services. It provides a single point of access to community and local environment information and enhances the way you can do business with the Council.
