Annual Monitoring Report

The Council is required  to monitor the effectiveness of its policies and proposals. The Local Development Scheme (LDS) will be monitored on an annual basis. Each year an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) will be submitted (once agreed by Council) to the Secretary of State each December. Each Report must be based upon the period 1 April to 31 March.

The Annual Monitoring Report:

  • Sets out whether the Council is meeting or is on track to meet the timescales set out in the most up-to-date LDS, and if not; the reasons why and what steps are being taken to address any problems
  • Provides information on the extent to which policies on in the Local Development Framework are being achieved, and what impact the policies are having on other targets set at the national, regional or local level
  • Assesses whether any Local Development Documents need to be reviewed due to changes in planning policy at the national, regional or sub-regional level
  • Considers whether any policies need to be replaced or additional Local Development Documents are required.
