Local Land Charges Register Viewing

As you may be aware we are merging with Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council and Vale Royal Borough Council as from 1st April 2009.  There is a need for the 3 existing councils to start standardising our processes.  One of these processes is the inspection of the Local Land Charges Register.

To increase efficiency and reduce the usage of paper and in accordance with the requirements under E-government for Local Authorities to develop electronic delivery of information, we ask that you request Local Land Charges Register viewing appointments via email from now on.

Your email should include:-

  • All addresses that you wish to search (maximum of 4 addresses per company a day).
  • A date and time which you wish the search to be carried out.  The request should be sent to us up to one week in advance.
  • A plan for each of the properties you wish to search against outlined in RED. The plan should be of a scale which allows us to identify the location of the property. This should include neighbouring properties and preferably named roads, especially for properties in the rural area.  Please ensure that the area outlined in RED matches the address of the search – the onus for the accuracy of this falls upon yourselves.

Our Local Land Charges Register viewing appointment times are as follows:

(Monday – Friday, excluding bank holidays)

  • 10:00 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m.
  • 11:00 a.m.
  • 11:30 a.m.

Once we have received your request we will email you with confirmation of your Local Land Charges Register Viewing appointment.  However, if your requested date and time is unavailable we shall contact you by telephone to arrange an alternative appointment.

Upon confirmation of the Local Land Charges Register Viewing appointment we will also forward your appointment date and time to Plans Processing Unit.  There is no need to make a separate appointment with Planning. You will be able to view the planning history at the same time as the Local Land Charges Register.

There is no change to the way you view the Local Land Charges Register, i.e. upon arrival at the 2nd Floor Planning Reception, staff from the Local Land Charges team will collect the appropriate fee and hand over the fee receipt. The Local Land Charges Register will be handed to you for inspection and return. The planning history will be handed over to you separately by the Planning Receptionist for your inspection and return.
