Planning Enforcement
The Council is responsible for ensuring developments are carried out with the appropriate permission (where it is required) and that any planning conditions are adhered to. Planning enforcement also aims to make sure that building work, changes of use, signs and the condition of property are acceptable and/or have the right sort of planning permission.
The Planning Enforcement Register is available to view online or at the 2nd floor Planning Reception by making an appointment - contact details below. You can view Enforcement Appeals on the Planning Portal's Planning Casework Service website (external link).

Can I get advice about Planning Enforcement?
In order to help you with the sometimes complex issues involved with different types of enforcement issues and action, we are always available to give free advice.
Planning Enforcement Officers will welcome discussion of alleged unauthorised development, or to meet you on site to discuss further.
What if I'm not happy with the outcome?
If you feel that we have not dealt with this matter correctly, there is a corporate complaints procedure to guide you through our complaints process.
