Did you know that many many years ago, Santa used to wear a green suit? With 3 million tonnes of waste produced each Christmas, we think its time Santa went back to being green.

Sadly Christmas can be a time of waste as well as good cheer. Try the following tips for cutting waste at Christmas...
Top Eco Christmas Tips
- Don't forget to recycle! Although its busy at Christmas, make sure recycling containers are in easy reach of family and guests
- Avoid disposable plates and cutlery and get the relatives to wash up!

- Buy food and drink in bulk to save on packaging
- Buy local seasonal produce that hasn't travelled thousands of miles and is less likely to be over packaged (Click on following link for more information) Farmers Markets
- Make your own mulled wine - this will save on funds too!
- Use reusable containers for storing all that leftover festive food instead of cling film or foil

- Wrap presents with ribbon or string so that wrapping paper can be used again next year

- Use a Bag-For-Life when shopping and avoid all those plastic bags

- Buy magazine subsriptions, sponsorships or tickets for events instead of unwanted gifts

- Choose rechargeable batteries for any gifts that need them
- Buy a real tree then recycle it -

- Delamere forest sell trees from 26th Nov to 19th Dec. Trees can be taken back to the forest for recycling, taken to a Recycling Centre (please click the link below) or put out with your Garden Waste bin or sack. Or if you buy a tree with roots it can go in the garden for next year.
- Place one card in a communal place for the office to save paper. Recycle all your cards in your Green bag
