Battery and Glass Recycling Scheme
So far the BAG-IT scheme has proved extremely successful, greatly increasing the amount of glass we recycle in Chester.
The scheme now covers 90% of the district.
We will collect:
- Domestic batteries
- Rechargeable domestic batteries
- Watch batteries
- Mobile phone batteries
- Detachable power tool entries (not the equipment)
- Glass jars
- Bottles, sauce bottles, wine bottles
We will NOT collect:
- Car Batteries
- Industrial Batteries
- Pyrex
- Light Bulbs
- Fluorescent tubes (please take these to a Household Waste Recycling Centre)
- Flat Glass such as window panes
Residents included in the scheme receive an information pack and an extra strong re-usable polypropylene sack.
The sacks are collected once every 4 weeks. Please leave them at the edge of your property, where it meets the pavement, and not on the kerbside For back alley collections, please leave them in the entry at your gate Our crews will empty and return your sack, so feel free to write your house number on it.
