The City Archaeologist heads a team with the expertise to provide a broad-based, efficient and high quality professional service. We also have access to a well established network of specialists to supplement our in-house expertise. All staff take part in a variety of outreach activities and are happy to give talks on their areas of expertise.

On-site advice on environmental potential and sampling strategies; co-ordination of environmental post-excavation programmes and study of environmental remains.

Reports up to final publication standard on animal bone; also preliminary processing of soil samples by wet sieving and flotation to retrieve small mammal, fish, invertebrate and plant remains; evaluation and assessment reports on environmental remains.
