Standard Sessions

Book any or, all of these 3 linked standard sessions:

Hands On

A hands-on investigation/activity session led by one of our experienced teaching staff. Your pupils will handle real and replica artefacts, make a mosaic pattern, investigate our re-constructed section from an archaeological dig, sort a soil sample; learn from a skeleton and examine replica armour.

Time: 1 Hour

Visit

A visit to the Grosvenor Museum Roman Galleries. The Webster Gallery contains the best collection of Roman tombstones in the country. Look at finds from the fortress in the Newstead Gallery, which now has some new interactive activities. Sample worksheets available. 

Time: 30 minutes each gallery

Tour

Local School Children kitted out at Legionnaires

A Tour of sites in the City. Join the award winning Roman Tours and march with a Roman soldier in full armour as he shows you round his home, the mighty Fortress of Deva. Your pupils will see the amphitheatre, the walls, the Roman Gardens and other surviving evidence of the time.

Time: 1 hour 15 minutes.
