Births, Deaths and Marriages

Registration Services - All registration services in Cheshire are the responsibility of Cheshire County Council's Registration Service. 

Death and Bereavement - Even when you are mourning a loved one there are unfortunately, some administrative procedures you must follow.  This section is designed to help you find out more about what you need to do, or the options open to you.

Registering a Birth - You will need to register your child's birth within 42 days of your child being born.  Registering a birth is free.

Marriages - This guide is designed to help you plan your wedding ceremony in Chester

Civil Partnerships - The Civil Partnership Act 2004 came into force on 5 December 2005. This will enable same-sex couples to obtain legal recognition of their relationship. Couples who form a civil partnership will have a new legal status, that of 'civil partner'.
