Where can I go to give blood?

It's so easy to save a life. Just show up at a blood donor session, sit back and share a pint with us. That's all it takes.

Every day new medical treatments are being developed and more operations are being carried out. So not surprisingly, we constantly need donations for these vital procedures. About 2.1 million a year, to be exact.

And it's not as if it's a difficult thing to do. When you show up, they'll ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle (just to make sure you haven't been exposed to anything infectious). They'll take a drop of blood from your finger to make sure you're not anaemic. And then they'll take your blood donation (external link) which is just under a pint. This should take about 10 minutes.

And most people don't feel a thing. Apart from a terrific sense of well-being that they've helped save a life, that is..
