Families and Young People

Some of the areas relating to family and young people Social Services can help you with include:

Fostering and Adoption - Adoption is a way of providing a new permanent family for a child not able to be brought up by either of their birth parents. There are many reasons why this might happen, but adoption by a new family allows the child to enjoy a more secure and loving environment.  We offer some information on what it involves and how to take the first step to becoming a foster parent.

Child Protection - If you are worried that a child might be suffering from abuse or need protecting contact your local Social Services Access Team, or Emergency Out of Hours 01606 76611 or Childline on 0800 1111.

Family Support Centres - Cheshire Social Services operates ten specialist family centres. Each provides a range of services to support children and families in a pleasant and stimulating setting.

Domestic Violence - You are not alone if you are a victim of domestic violence and there are lots of organisations to help you.
