New National Concessionary Travel Scheme – April 2008
From April 2008, if you are aged 60 or over, or you have certain disabilities – you will be entitled to free off-peak bus travel on local bus services – anywhere in England.
To take advantage of this scheme all eligible residents must complete an application form, provide copies of documents supporting their eligibility and supply a recent passport style photograph. Your new Smart Card bus pass will be sent to you within five working days from receipt of application.
Existing Pass Holders
All existing pass holders who applied to renew their pass prior to 31st January 2008 should, by now, be in possession of their new Smart Card bus pass.
If you have not yet recieved your pass please contact the customer help line on 01244 402148.
Applications after 1st Feb 08
If you applied for your pass between 1 February 2008 and 31 March 2008 then your pass should arrive by the end of April 2008.
If you do not receive your new pass by then please contact the customer help line on 01244 402148.
When you recieve you new pass please check that your pass details and photo are correct. If there are any problems please inform the customer help line on 01244 402148.
New Applicants
If you are applying for a pass for the first time then you need to:
- complete an application form
- supply one recent passport style photograph
- your age
- your residential address
- if you are applying for a disabled pass we also need documentary evidence of your registered disability.

Please Remember
We cannot process an application form without a recent passport standard photograph. It needs to be a close up of your head and shoulders facing forward, looking straight towards the camera and without a hat.
