The Cheshire County Council Trading Standards Service promotes a fair, safe and equitable trading environment for the Cheshire Community through advice, education and by regulation.
They work to protect the public from:
Fraudulent use of weights and measures
- False descriptions of goods & services
- Bogus price claims
- Unfair small print in contracts
- Rogue Traders and high pressure doorstep selling
- Dangerous or unsafe goods and products
- Counterfeit goods
and are able to offer:
- advice to consumers on their rights
- advice to business on the law relating to the sales and supply of goods and services

They also operate a minicom to take calls from those with hearing difficulties. If it is hard for you to use a telephone, ask a relative or friend to call or write a note and they will arrange a home visit.
