This photograph [above] gives a fantastic overview of the work that has been going on in Area A of the past month. It was taken from a newly erected vantage point above the amphitheatre site to give the archaeologists such a useful perspective on their work.
You can see from the photograph the many features that have been uncovered, especially the foundations from the 18th century buildings.
