David Heke will be exhibiting his photographs from the project taken over the summer months. It will take place at the Chester Visitor Centre on Sat 18 December.
David Heke is a freelance commercial and fine-art photographer, based in Chester.
He has a long-term interest in archaeology and has been looking to do a photographic project based on a major excavation in the area, so the Chester Amphitheatre Project has provided the perfect opportunity.
The work consists of both documentary and more manipulated, interpretative images, based on the archaeology and history of the site, as well as on the archaeologists themselves.
An exhibition of images from the first season is to be held through the winter months in the Chester Visitor Centre.
David Heke would like to thank Chester City Council and English Heritage for their help and support in allowing him to carry out this personal photographic project.
