M&D YAC (Mersey and Dee Young Archaeologists’ Club) were full of enthusiasm when they visited the dig last Wednesday.

They were given a guided tour of the dig – it was the first time many that many of them had been given opportunity to see an excavation in such detail.

The environmental archaeologist then showed them the various techniques involved in the wet sieving process.

They were given an opportunity to view and handle some of the exciting finds discovered so far this season.

Shirley-Anne Hadley, M&D YAC Event Organiser, said “It was wonderful for the Club to be given an opportunity to see such an important excavation and to have the archaeologists take time out to explain what has been discovered so far”.
