Area Profiling: What's it all about?

The Area Working team at the City Council are working with local communities to develop Area Plans and Profiles for each Area Committee.  The profiles and plans will be used to inform local decision making and the planning of services.

We already have detailed ward profiles.  What we are collating now is the real story about what it is like to live where you live and what can, and should, be done to improve things.  Our first step is to determine priorities at Area Committee level and we need your cooperation to achieve this.

What have we done so far?

We have held a series of community workshops across the district, in each Area Committee area, to give people the opportunity to come and tell us their concerns and issues.

We have talked to people attending Area Committees and we have been to community events to talk to as many people as we can across Chester District.

We have also posted out post cards for people to complete and post back to us (postage paid).

We have asked young people across the District about their concerns and issues and have held a focus group for people from Black Minority Ethnic communities in Chester.

Now each Area Committee is working on their area plan and action plan that will determine priorities for the year ahead.
