Grosvenor Museum

Grosvenor Museum, 27 Grosvenor Street, Chester, CH1 2DD

The Grosvenor Museum has independent access to the ground floor.  This includes the Roman Galleries, the Introductory Time Line Gallery, the Lecture Theatre, Special Exhibition Gallery One, the Shop and the ground floor of the Period House.  Virtual access to the upper floors for those unable to climb the stairs is via video tours of the galleries.  Staff are always keen to make these collections as accessible as possible.  With advance notice we may be able to show you particular items or the handling collections.  First floor galleries include Natural History, Art, Silver and Special Exhibition Gallery Two. 

There is a fully accessible toilet and baby changing facility.

Admission is free.

Open:  Mon - Sat 10.30-5, Sun 1-4, all year including Bank Holidays, but excluding Good Friday, Christmas and New Year.

Public conveniences in Chester

The council provides public conveniences at various locations throughout the District.

Wheelchair accessible toilets:

1.      Princess Street (under the market)

2.      Frodsham Street

3.      Union Street (near Grosvenor Park)

4.      The Groves (near Suspension Bridge)

5.      Little Roodee (on car/coach park)

Non-wheelchair accessible toilets:

1.      High Street Malpas

There are ten automatic public conveniences (APCs) located at: City Road, Brook Street, Pepper Street, George Street (Bus Station), Foregate Street, The Greyhound Park, Bishop Street Car Park (Hoole), Boughton Heath Park and Ride site, and Upton (The Zoo) Park and Ride site. All APCs provide a seven-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day facility.

There are two Univeral Superloos located on Foregate Street and Princess Street. These units are wheelchair accessible and can be coin operated (20p) or via a RADAR key. (RADAR keys are available from DIAL House and cost £3.)
