Over 50s

Life begins at forty - or fifty or sixty - and age is becoming less and less of a reason to stop doing what you want or love doing, and that includes working.

This section provides information about topics you should know something about if you are approaching or considering retirement.

Retiring - When you have been working for most of your life, retirement can sometimes come as  a shock.  Although you may have been looking forward to retirement, many people have a "well, what now?" feeling once they have broken away from the day-to-day routine of a working life.

Pension advice - With all the stories about pensions in the news lately you can be forgiven for being a bit confused about it all.  What pension is right for you, do you have enough for your retirement, when should you start saving into a pension?  These are all questions that a lot of us are currently asking

Opportunities in retirement - Being retired may mean you have more time to do the things you've always wanted to. Or you might want to look for new ideas to do things you never knew you'd enjoy. In any case there are a range of opportunities you can enjoy in retirement.

Health and Social Care - This section of the site is devoted to health and social care and while we are not responsible for any of these services, we've taken the opportuniy to provide information and advice about the range of service on offer to make it easier for youto decide what you need to do next.

Silver surfers - More and more people now use the internet, and the number of older users is rapidly increasing – users over 50 are set to dominate online shopping by 2010.
