Retiring

When you have been working for most of your life, retirement can sometimes come as  a shock.  Although you may have been looking forward to retirement, many people have a "well, what now?" feeling once they have broken away from the day-to-day routine of a working life.

But it needn't be that way and the way to look at retirement is as a new opportunity to enjoy things you may not have had the chance to do before. Take up a new hobby, start travelling, or volunteer to help out somewhere.

There are a range of organisations who can offer you help and advice on what to do next

Age Concern provide a range of leaflets designed to help you with all aspects of retiring, from dealing with your pension to finding social clubs and events.  All the leaflets are available free and can be accessed by visiting the Age Concern Information and Advice Section of their website (external link).
