About Cheshire's Family Centres
Cheshire Social Services operates ten specialist family centres. Each provides a range of services to support children and families in a pleasant and stimulating setting.
What services do Family Centres offer?
Family centres differ in the range or services which they offer to their local communities. Services may be provided individually or within a group setting. A service may be delivered in the centre or an outreach service, depending on the needs of the family.
Here are some examples of services which may be available:
- Parent's groups
- Children's groups
- Education provision for young parents
- Child development/parentcraft sessions
- After school activities
- Holiday play schemes
- Work with individual children, including assessment of their wishes and feelings
- Individual work in the home
- Family support sessions
- Specialist assessment, life story work, and pre-placement preparation
- Information about other local services
How do I get access to Family Centre Services?
