Information for or about young people.
Duke of Edinburgh Award - The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, a registered charity, is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of activities for anyone aged 14-25
Gap Years - Taking a gap year isn't just about travelling around the world. There are lots of ways that you can build key skills and get more experience of life working in the UK, travelling and working abroad, and through volunteering.
Voluntary Work - Voluntary work is not only a way to improve your career prospects, but also to put something back into society. You also have rights as a volunteer, but it might affect any benefits you claim.
Child Employment - Your child may want to work to earn some extra pocket money; here are the rules that apply to children of compulsory school age. Children are of compulsory school age up to the last Friday in June in the academic year of their 16th birthday, after which is the Mandatory School Leaving Age ( MSLA ) and the child can apply for their National Insurance Number and may work full time.
Health and Relationships - Life is hard enough when you're growing up without having to worry about issues that may be affecting you. There is a range of help and advice available to young people to make sure you can find out more about how to deal with your concerns.
Bullying - Bullying can be pretty much anything that involves someone who deliberately makes your life difficult - it can be physical, like being pushed, kicked or hit. It can be verbal, like being called names or threatened. It can be being left out of a group of friends. It can be having your things taken off you or broken. It can be someone spreading rumours about you - whether they're true or not.
Young Carers - If you are a young carer (aged under 18) it’s important that you get the support you need.

On-line Counselling - The Kooth Online Counselling initiative is designed to counsel 11-19 years olds and allows for ‘one to one’ contact with trained counsellors who, using their links to Children’s Services, may urge ‘face to face’ support when the young person feels able.
Keeping Safe Online - Keeping safe online is easier than you think, if you just follow some simple guidelines
Helplines - Talking is always a good way of dealing with a problem or a worry. Sometimes it's not always easy to talk to someone you know. Helplines offer a solution to this problem because they give you the chance to talk to someone anonymously and confidentially.
