Summer activities for kids

Are you looking for fun activities for your kids to do while they are off over the summer? There are lots of sporting activities taking place all over the Chester district for children of all ages with all interests.

Coach Education Programme

Information on the summer/Autumn 2008 Coach Education Courses in the Chester district is available now in the Coaching section.  Or alternatively contact a member of sports development on 01244 402273 for more information.

 

Upcoming Events

• Starlight Stroll - 6th September

  A ladies only, 6 mile sponsored walk starting and finishing at Chester Racecourse for the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd charity.

• Forget Me Not Walk – 7^th September

  A 5 km sponsored walk for people of all ages starting from the cross and ending at the racecourse in aid of Leukaemia Research.

• Shell Sutton 6 -10k - 21^st September

  A 10 km run around the lanes of the small village of Guilden Sutton with a 400 race capacity. The event will start at 11 am for those wishing to either compete or spectate.

• Shell around the walls race – Boxing Day

  This is a 4.5 mile (approx) race starting on the Roodee and finishing back at the racecourse. There is a 500 race limit for the event and the race will start at 11 am.

Health Walk Success

Chester Health Walks organised by Sports Development has gone from strength to strength in its bid to encourage less active members of Chester’s communities to take up low impact activity.

So far, three walking groups have been established in the district with a number of areas being considered for the near future.

Chester Community Sports Network

The CCSN is a group of local partners that represent communities and organisations within the district of Chester. The group is currently working on the development of a number of programs to service health issues for Chester.
