Roles of Community Safety Wardens
Improve the Environment
Promoting a clean, secure environment by reducing the presence of litter, graffiti, fly-tipping and generally inproving the physical appearence and management of your area.
Tackling Anti-social Behaviour and Nuisance
Working together with the public and other agencies to identify problems and endeavour to apply long term solutions. Providing public re-assurance on community safety issues by attending community meetings and patrolling problem areas.

Enforcement and Intelligence gathering
Working with other city council departments and partner agencies to report, record and analyse occurances to develop appropriate measures to prevent and combat future offences.
Partnership Working
The Wardens work closely with many other agencies to promote Community Safety, you will often find Wardens accompanying the police on neighbourhood patrols. They also work closely with Cheshire Fire Service, British Transport Police, the Environmental agency and Chester and District Housing trust.
Friend on the street
Working within all communities to provide peace of mind, support and offer public reassurance. Attending regular resident and community meetings, ward walks with area managers and neighbourhood managment ensures the Wardens remain accessible to listen and understand local people's needs.
Authority
Wearing smart, visible uniforms and patrolling in a variety of ways the Wardens presence alone acts as a deterrent to any potential criminal. The Wardens are in direct contact with the CCTV control room and the police via radio to ensure support is always available. The Wardens have the power to issue fixed penalty notices to offenders for a variety of offences when appropriate.
