Online ServiceChester Vehicle Amnesty

The remains of an abandoned carThe City Council has introduced a pilot 'Vehicle Amnesty' scheme offering owners free collection and disposal of unwanted vehicles.

Under the pilot scheme, owners can contact the Council and arrange to have an unwanted vehicle towed away and disposed of. The owner must agree to legally 'surrender' the car.

The Council uses 'Universal Vehicle Services' - a company that specialises in dealing with abandoned vehicles.

If all the relevant documents and paperwork are produced by the owner, the Council will aim to remove an unwanted vehicle as soon as possible following the completion of surrender documentation from the registered keeper.

To find out more, or to request the removal of an unwanted car, please contact the Environment Call Centre on 01244 402 477, e-mail callcentre@chester.gov.uk or use the Vehicle Amnesty Report Form Online Service.
