Do it online
Chester City Council is committed to providing access to all its services via electronic means and there are a number of key projects underway to help us achieve this goal. Part of this commitment has seen us offer the ability to pay council tax, parking fines and general invoices online.
This section contains access and information about some of our online services.
Online Council Services - Details of online services available through the Chester City Council Website
Keeping safe online - It’s important that if you’re using the internet, you know how to stay safe. You should never give out any personal information when you're online, no matter who you think you're talking to.
Identity theft - Identity theft affects over 100,000 people every year. By obtaining a few of your personal details it is possible for a criminal to open up bank accounts, obtain credit cards, claim benefits and also apply for official documents such as a driving licence, all of which will be traceable to you.
Silver Surfers - websitesMore and more people now use the internet, and the number of older users is rapidly increasing – users over 50 are set to dominate online shopping by 2010
Your child and the Internet - Sadly there are many risks to children online. However, these can be reduced through a combination of technology and good parenting.
Other Services
You can do more and more online - from shopping to keeping in touch with old school friends, but one of the most useful uses of the internet is being able to fill out forms and apply for services that you used to have to do by post or by queuing at the Post Office.
