Transport Plan
for Cheshire
Cheshire County Council has published a draft Transportation for Cheshire consultation. The Plan sets out the objectives for transport for 2006-2011. It identifies some key proposals for the Chester area including:
- Completing the Chester Western Relief Road and a new river crossing for the River Dee
- Further expansion of the Park and Ride services
- Chester Station Gateway project
- Further development of walking and cycling networks
After consultation, the County will complete a provisional Local Transport Plan in June 2005 which will be submitted to the Department of Transport. A final Plan is expected in March 2006.
