Cheshire County Council LogoTransport Plan for Cheshire

Cheshire County Council has published a draft Transportation for Cheshire consultation.  The Plan sets out the objectives for transport for 2006-2011.  It identifies some key proposals for the Chester area including:

  • Completing the Chester Western Relief Road and a new river crossing for the River Dee
  • Further expansion of the Park and Ride services
  • Chester Station Gateway project
  • Further development of walking and cycling networks

After consultation, the County will complete a provisional Local Transport Plan in June 2005 which will be submitted to the Department of Transport.  A final Plan is expected in March 2006.

The Council will be responding to the consultation document.   The Plan can be found on www.cheshire.gov.uk/localtransportplan/ (external link)
