Residents at the
centre module
Information and support material
- How do we help residents influence the changes in their lives and neighbourhoods?
- How do we provide a way for communities to measure how their services are delivered?
- How can we ensure that resident experience is used in looking at issues and finding solutions?
More vocal sections of the community can often get heard. Public organisations need to make sure that they hear everyone's views so that they can improve the services they provide. Otherwise resources may not be directed at neighbourhoods that need them most. New ways are needed to give a voice to all those interested in improving Chester.
- If you work with the public, are you confident that you can do this?
- If you are a resident, do you know the best way to get yourself heard?
- If you are a Councillor, would it help to find new ways to ensure all resident views are being taken into account and help them take actions for themselves?
Aims:
To help you:
- Use a neighbourhood management approach to analysing and solving problems
- Learn good practice in getting and valuing resident contribution
- Learn tools that resident groups can use to measure outcomes of initiatives
