The Scheme is set out into 6 classes. These are:

The Council and its Constitution

This class contains

  • the Council Constitution
  • agendas, reports and minutes of the Council Cabinet, Review Committees, Area Committees, Planning and Licensing Boards, Highways Local Joint Committee and other than items which are exempt
  • outline of the council's structure
  • details of councillors contact names, wards and roles.
  • Members' allowances, the current schem of alowances, summary of annual payments and the last report of the Independent Remuneration Panel

Council Finances

  • This class contains details of the council's budget and capital programme for the current year

Council Policies

  • This class contains council wide policies such as the Corporate Plan and Equal Opportunities Policy.

Council Performance

  • This class contains the council's Best Value Performance Plan for the current year and the last published performance results.

Council Services

  • This class sets out an A to Z of information we publish about council services with contact details.

Council News

  • This class contains press releases, bulletins, newsletters and Chester News (the council's newspaper)

 

In each case the scheme gives the title of the class and a description of what is covered so that you can identify what is included. The scheme also states the format in which the information is available (e.g. hard copy, website) and how you can view it.

Any charges for copies will also be shown.

In preparing the scheme we have taken notice of the sort of information people normally ask to see. We have also considered the public interest in disclosing information, in the interests of open and accountable government.
