Customer Services Centre

 

At Chester City Council our aim is to put the customer at the heart of everything we do, working hard to promote a ‘customer first’ culture where customers are valued.  We are committed to providing an efficient and effective delivery of first class services to all our customers.  We aim to deliver services in an inclusive and fair manner, without discrimination, prejudice or bias.

We want to understand our customers and ensure that our customers understand the services we provide and are reliably informed about them.

We are the first point of contact for a wide range of customer enquiries and we aim to fulfil as many of the requests for service at the first point of contact, and where this is not possible transferring the request to the appropriate service then tracking the progress of this work through to fulfilment.

 

If you visit us we can:

• Deal with Council Tax, Housing benefit, Business rates and overpayment enquiries
• Issue charisma cards
• Take applications for free school meals, blue badges and concessionary travel
• Deal with parking fine enquiries
• Provide recycling bags, doggy bags and job applications
• Take electronic payments for council services
• give you access to planning applications, past and present.
• arrange for you to discuss planning issues with planning officers (duty officer available - no appointment basis)

 

If you telephone or email us we can:

• Deal with Council Tax, Housing Benefit, Business rates and Overpayment enquiries
• Deal with refuse, recycling, special collections and pest control enquiries - we can arrange collections of bulky items, send out refuse/recycling bags and calendars, arrange pest control visits, deal with graffiti and abandoned vehicles.
• Take payments over the phone for Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits Overpayments and Debtors.
