Environmental Health - Chester City Council's Environmental Health Section has a wide range of responsibilities

Health and Safety - To help businesses comply with the law, the Health and Safety team offers advice and information on health and safety matters.

Environmental Protection - the team deals with issues ranging from infectious diseases, contaiminated land and noise nuisance.

Pest Control - The Pest Control Service aims to deal effectively and promptly with reports of rats, mice and other pests.

Food Safety - The Food Safety Team's job is to ensure compliance with food safety legislation. The team are also prepared to offer advice and provide information to appropriate persons who are involved in the preparation, production and sale of food.

Drainage - If your drain is blocked you will usually know because your waste will stop going away when you flush the toilet, or gullies outside will overflow. There will also probably be a smell.

Careers - To become an Environmental Health Officer ( EHO ) in the United Kingdom it is necessary to be accepted on a course accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health ( CIEH ) at a university or college.
