Putting health and hygiene on the menu

Do you take food hygiene seriously, serve healthy options and have a smoke free policy?

Let your customers know with Chester's new Eat Well Award scheme.

The award costs nothing and recognises food businesses that promote and practice good food hygiene, offer healthier menu choices where possible and provide smoke free areas.

There are four levels of award - platinum, gold, silver and bronze. Platinum is the highest level with the toughest criteria, but every award tells customers they can expect good food hygiene standards.

The award has to be renewed every year, but you can use it to help promote your business. You'll also get to attend a high-profile presentation evening, enjoy local press coverage and a mention on the council website and in various council newsletters, guides and other publications.

Clean food preparation, healthy options and smoke free dining are important to people eating out, so don't be shy - tell them you serve up a clean, healthy and smoke-free experience.

The aim of the awards is to benefit both you and your customers.
