The council has worked with Cheshire West Primary Care Trust to develop the Eat Well Award, which recognises food businesses that actively promote and practice good food hygiene standards and, where appropriate, offer healthy menus and provide smoke-free areas.
There are four award categories; platinum, gold, silver and bronze, each specifying certain criteria to be achieved. The free award is aimed at all types of food businesses and award-winners are expected to benefit from the associated media and council publicity and promotion. For further information contact the city council's food safety team on 01244 402302.
