Compliments, comments and complaints

From the 1st April 2009, Cheshire West and Chester Council is the new Council replacing Chester City Council, Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council, Vale Royal Borough Council and the western part of Cheshire County Council. The pages and documents through this website may contain branding and information relevant to the old councils, but are being made available because they are still relevant to our customers. We are continuing to update all materials on the Cheshire West and Chester website and aim to remove all references to the old Councils by the end of the year (2009).

Health & Safety - Occupational Health Services

The council has a legal duty to enforce the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and related legislation. On behalf of the council, the Health and Safety Team aims to ensure that work premises are safe for employees and visitors to them and that accidents and ill-health are prevented wherever possible.

We will:

Help us to help you

If you wish to make a complaint about health, safety or welfare conditions in a workplace, please contact us by any of the means listed (email, phone or the form provided below).  Please have full details ready of the premises concerned when you contact us.

Some workplaces will be the responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive  (external link), rather than the council, according to the nature of the work carried out. We can advise you who the relevant 'enforcing authority' for health and safety purposes is, when you contact us. If you make a complaint about a workplace, we will require your name, address and contact details so that we can keep you informed of our progress.
