Air Quality Review and Assessment

The Council has recently submitted its Updating and Screening Assessment to DEFRA to review air quality within our district. The Updating Screening Assessment Review (72kb) This document is a PDF file and the USA Appendix (18kb) This document is a PDF file are available here for information.

The conclusion of the updating and screening assessment of air quality in Chester District carried out in May 2003 is that for five of the six pollutants the whole of the district will achieve the objective by the due date.

The screening assessment has predicted that the concentration of nitrogen dioxide will exceed the annual mean concentration at properties in the vicinity of the gyratory at Christleton Road and Tarvin Road.

The council will therefore carry out a detailed assessment of concentrations of nitrogen dioxide in the vicinity of the gyratory at Christleton Road and Tarvin Road by the end of April 2004.
