CRed Chester
We are delighted that you are willing to join us in tackling
climate change - the biggest threat to our way of life.
If we are to reduce the impact of global warming we need to take
action now. All of us can make simple pledges to cut our energy use
and emissions. These might involve simply changing to low energy
light bulbs or considering how you might alter your lifestyle to
reduce your carbon footprint.
The council is taking the lead in offering all its 166,000 citizens personal access to the CRed pledge system. it's easy to make a pledge to take action.
CRed at Home
How can you help at home to reduce your carbon footprint?
There are many ways in which you can reduce your personal carbon
footprint and this site is designed to help you make and monitor
your pledges to take action.
For example, you could make a simple pledge to start walking to
school instead of driving, or you may opt to buy a lower energy use
fridge, next time you buy one. If you want to make an even bigger
impact you could increase your loft insulation to 11 inches (as
recommended) and/or fit double glazing. You could also change over
to a greener energy supply for no extra cost by calling your
current energy supplier using the phone number at the top of your
bill.
The great thing is that all these actions help to stem climate
change and save you money. What a great combination!
The council and organisations such as Energy Projects Plus (external
link) are on hand to help you along your pathway to carbon
neutrality. They can recommend actions and help you identify local
suppliers who can support you.
