Private Hire Licensing Fees

The following fees were correct at April 2007.

Private Hire Drivers

Please note that New Applicants will need to undergo a Medical Examination with their General Practitioner. Your GP will charge for this service however the City Council have no control over the level of the fee charged. A Medical Examination is required every 6 years until your 60th birthday. Driver's over the age of 60 must undergo an examination every year.

Vehicle Test (Required on application and every year thereafter until the vehicle reaches 8 years old, from which point a test is required every 6 months) Once your Vehicle has passed the Test you must present the Certificate to the Licensing Team within one month.	£75.00 Maximum	Valid for One Month

Vehicle Tests can be undertaken at any of the seven City Council Approved Testing station within the Chester District. The test includes a full UK MOT. A list of the seven station can be downloaded from the Guidance & Information page.
