This site includes only those records which the Council hold on computer, and is not therefore a complete database of all information held by the Council. Please do not rely on information from this site as an alternative to traditional searches where completeness of information is essential. While the Council take great care to ensure that the information provided on this site is accurate, we cannot accept any liability or responsibility should you rely on the information provided and ultimately find it to have been incorrect. Since September 2007 all personal information is redacted prior to scanning.

Current planning applications can be viewed on our website, but they can take up to 7 days to be uploaded. This facility is not intended to replace the public register copy, which can be viewed at our Planning Reception on the second floor of the Forum offices, it is an alternative that gives our customers the choice to view the information either in person or online.

If you have any reason to suspect that the information is incorrect, please contact us immediately by e-mailing planning@chester.gov.uk so that the matter can be investigated and any corrections made as soon as reasonably practical.

Copyright Notice

Plans, drawings and material submitted to the local authority are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (Section 47). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner, (the applicant/ agent/ architect). You may, however, make copies of the decision notice provided the copies are not altered in any way.

The Council do not use the National Planning Application Register (external link) Planning Portal Pilot to monitor applications but it is available for you to look at by clicking on the link.

Searching for Planning Applications 

All Planning Applications can be inspected by visiting the Forum Offices 2nd floor Planning Reception between 8.30am - 4.45pm Monday to Friday.

Since 1 April 2003 all planning applications have been scanned and are now available to view online (these applications can still be viewed at Planning Reception).

You can search for planning applications by:

• Application Number
• Street Name
• Post Code
• Date Range
