Parks for People is a three year joint initiative between the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund (BIG). The programme supports the restoration and regeneration of public parks and gardens, including squares, walks and promenades in England.

Grosvenor Park
Public parks were once the pride and joy of English towns and cities and the Heritage Lottery wants to help put them back at the heart of thriving local communities, transforming the way people think about themselves, their identity and their heritage. Parks for People focuses on the belief that communities should have access to a well-designed and maintained public park, with opportunities for enjoyment and recreation for all.
The main priorities of the Parks for People project are to make sure that:
- the community values the park as part of their heritage
- the park meets local social, economic and environmental needs
- the park actively involves local people
Any work and activities that the council proposes for Grosvenor Park and its surroundings are aimed at:
