The One Earth Festival
(July 13th 2008, 11am to 5pm) is a celebratory event that
raises awareness of local to global environment issues through a
variety of fun-filled, art and environmental activities.
It is an annual, summer event set in the beautiful
Grosvenor Park, Chester. This historic Victorian public park has a
variety of lawned areas and flower beds - and overlooks the
picturesque River Dee. It is close to the city centre, Chester
Railway Station, local bus stops and Park and Ride drop off bus stops.
The
festival, in particular, allows families and children to explore
environmental issues through a range of arts, dance and musical
experiences. One Earth creates a space within which to educate,
inform and inspire.
This colourful event will be a wonderful day out for Chester residents and visitors to the city. The main arena will be packed with exciting and educational activities. Elsewhere in the park, the benches and wide lawns will provide a relaxing space where people can picnic, be entertained by artists and listen to strolling musicians. (image copyright: C Houlbrook)
