Volunteer Work and Work Experience
We promote voluntary and work experience opportunities. If you would like to get actively involved in archaeology, have some time free during the week and are able to make a regular commitment, then you may be able to take part in our work. No previous experience of archaeology is necessary. This is also an opportunity for archaeology students to meet some of their course requirements for practical work.
Subsistence payments are often available for limited periods to help cover expenses. Unfortunately the numbers of volunteers we can take at one time are limited.
We also accept high school students on work experience placements. Subject to the demands of the service, we will do our best to provide informal training and a variety of work to match abilities and interests.
